The End... Chapter One

I've said "The End" and I've picked up a new book, but wait it's blank!  I sit here reflecting on the experiences that have led me to this moment.  Here is my Chapter One.

18 and About... About life... About adventure... About discovery... About friends... About family... About  love... About failure... About success... About experiences... About risks... About being out and about.

This is what these next few weeks are about, what the rest of my life is about.

Let's just do a short recap on this summer.  On June 6, 2014 I was fortunate enough to graduate from Pioneer High School alongside some of the most amazing people and with the guidance of their impeccable staff.  Following, myself and ten of my closest friends spent a week in Morro Bay, CA where we celebrated our coming of age and one of our last moments together over beach trips to Pismo, lunch in San Luis Obispo and RedBox movies in our two story beach house.  As July approached, my schedule started getting more busy with preparations for the upcoming hula competitions.  I am grateful for the many memories I have shared with my hula family, from late nights at the halau to emotional heart to hearts in our hotel room.  I am so proud to have represented my halau in the solo division at the George Na'ope Hula Festival. Our efforts were rewarded. The results are as follows:

George Na'ope Hula Festival in Sacramento, CA
Wahine kahiko 3rd place
Wahine solo 2nd place

3 Days of Aloha Hapa Haole Hula Competition in Portland, OR and Vancouver, WA
Wahine 3rd place
Combination hula 1st place
Mr. Hapa Haole 1st place
Keiki 1st place
Comic hula 1st place
Kupuna 1st place

Life is settling down, my friends are going to school and I am on my way out of the country.  In just a few days I will be on a ship headed for Spain.  Follow for updates on my travels.
